Food For Eyesight

Eyes are most important blessing by God. Without eyes, you can’t see the beauty and colors of this beautiful world. Your eyes are important part of your health. Everybody knows that eating right is the way to keep one healthy. Eyesight can improve by using right kind of food but also do remember that wrong eating habits can also have impact on your clear eyesight.


Some food having nutritional benefits can help to improve eyesight and also keep you away from several eye related diseases. I have made a list of some foods that are best for your eyesight.

Carrot:
Carrot is the most common food that has been associated with eyesight improvement from past times. You also have heard about the benefits of carrots for improving eyesight. Carrot acts as power house for protecting vision because it is enriched with beta-carotene, lycopene and lutein. Lycipene is anti-oxidant which protects eyes from UVB radiations. Beta- carotene is good for retina and protects eyes from damaged cause by the sun.

Citrus fruits:
Citrus fruits which are rich in vitamin C are helpful in prevention of degenerative eye disorders like cataracts. Orange is vitamin C rich fruit. Vitamin C helps in supporting blood vessels in the eye and may reduce the risk of cataracts. Vitamin C rich fruits also protect you against infection in eyes.


Peanut:
Peanuts are good source of vitamin E that is a nutrient that is known for protecting eyes from free radical damage. Vitamin E also hinders the progression of cataracts and age related macular degeneration.


Almond:
Almonds are eye friendly food. Vitamin E is found in abundant quantity in almond which prevents cataracts. Nuts like almonds that are high in both omega-3 fatty acids are beneficial in improving eyesight.

Apricot:
Apricots are rich in both beta-carotene and lycopene that promote good vision. Beta-carotene is a carotenoid that body converts in vitamin A. Vitamin A is anti-oxidant that resists oxidative stress damage to the lens of the eye helping to reduce risks of eye diseases and macular degeneration. Carotene also helps in night vision and play part in preventing cataracts.


Leafy green vegetables:
Leafy vegetables like kale, spinach, collard greens and broccoli are high in carotenoid nutrient lutein. These vegetables contain abundance of nutrients like calcium, vitamin A, vitamin B 12 and vitamin C. Eating foods that are enriched in carotenoids are associated with reduced risk of age related macular degeneration.

Salmon:
Salmon is a fatty fish which is rich in omega-3 fatty acids and is important for cellular health. These fatty acids help in preventing and slowing down eye diseases. Deficiency of omega-3 fatty acids may also contribute to dry eye syndrome.

Get clear eyesight and vision by eating healthy food. Making them a part of your daily meal can help you in keeping your eyes healthy.
